About

Why a podcast for Women in Tech Leadership?

Women tech execs are still hard to find despite recent industry efforts. With this podcast, Women in Tech At Work or WIT At Work for short, I would like to change that.

My hope is for this podcast to be a playbook for women, that demystifies what it takes to level up to executive engineering leadership from the perspective of women who have done it.

In 2020, code.org reported that after many years of declining, we’re starting to see an increasing pipeline of digital native, technology savvy women with cs credentials. The numbers are even more encouraging when looking at online bootcamps

My name is Monique Barbanson. I was born in France. My love of travelling took me to the US to get an MS in Computer Science at Yale and an MBA at UC Berkeley. I’ve led software teams at startups as well as Netscape, WebTV and Microsoft TV/XBox where I supported teams of super smart engineers to deliver products used by millions of consumers around the world. In my down time, I like to watch Women’s Basketball, play RockBand on XBox, Beat Saber on Quest and ski.
